We love our coastline and are always looking for ways to have a positive impact on the environment. Our sand free beach towel range is a great example of this. You can feel great when you use one of our amazing towels, knowing that each beach towel has been made using fabric produced from recycled plastic bottles.
Sometimes the best things in life start with a wrong turn.
A missed exit led us to Bokarina Beach on the Sunshine Coast — and that single moment changed everything. We fell in love instantly. The ocean. The simplicity. The space. It was everything we didn’t know we were searching for.
Not long after, we packed up our busy Gold Coast life and moved our family north to embrace a slower, more connected beach lifestyle.
As we settled into our new rhythm of saltwater mornings and sandy afternoons, we noticed something surprising — beach products were either boring, overpriced, or simply not made to last. We knew there had to be a better way.
So we decided to create it.
We set out to design beach products that looked incredible, performed beautifully, and were genuinely affordable for everyday families. At the same time, we felt a deep responsibility to protect the coastline we now called home.
The global plastic pollution problem is enormous — and growing. Instead of contributing to it, we wanted to be part of the solution. By utilising innovative recycling technology, we transform post-consumer plastic bottles into high-performance fabrics, giving existing materials a second life rather than relying on virgin resources.
From this mission, BOK Beach Life was born.
We launched with our vibrant range of sand-free beach towels — designed to turn heads while keeping sand where it belongs. At the time, sand-free towels existed, but very few were made using recycled plastic. We knew sustainability and style didn’t have to be mutually exclusive.
Today, our products are stocked nationwide in Anaconda, Australia’s premier outdoor retailer. What started as a single towel range has grown into a full beach and lifestyle collection including sand-free beach blankets, beach bags, handy towels, poncho towels, picnic beach mats and cooler bags.
To date, we’ve helped divert over 3 million plastic bottles from landfill — and we’re only just getting started.
Our goal is simple:
